about

"Sinful souls/frequent miscues/fighting the ever internal war...' is how it all begins...

'The Good, The Bad and The Rest of Us' is the first spoken word EP from San Diego native, R. Preston Clark. A member of the NUSPA award-winning Left Side Poets and a graduate of Hampton University, the 26-year-old Clark finally decided that it was time to make an album after writing and performing for over six years. But this is not a normal spoken word album. This isn't a collection of accapella poems or low bed music. This is an album full of production by The Batkave and features singers Preston Harris, Nani Rivero and ReAuna Clark as well as fellow poet, Eddie Henderson. Unlike other spoken word albums, Clark focused on presenting his poetry along with a sense of musicianship, writing each singing part and working with The Batkave to arrange and produce the music. The result is a collection of pieces put to spiced up R&B production and a unique experience delving into topics written at varying stages of Clark's adult life from college until now. So take this ride with him and... just... listen...
